In May 1988, he was employed as a trainee assistant at the Manufacturing Processes Department (currently the Department of Manufacturing Processes and Production Engineering), where he has been working until now.

In February 1995, at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the Rzeszów University of Technology, he defended his doctoral dissertation and obtained the degree of doctor of technical sciences in the discipline of Machine Construction and Operation. Also in 1995, he received a scholarship from the Foundation for Polish Science for Young Scientists.

In March 2007, at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the Rzeszów University of Technology, he obtained the degree of doctor habilitated, and in June 2007 he was employed as an associate professor.

After obtaining the degree of doctor habilitated (since October 1, 2007), he was appointed head of the Department of Manufacturing Processes and Production Organization (currently Department of Manufacturing Processes and Production Engineering). It is a large unit operating within the structures of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the Rzeszów University of Technology. Taking over the managerial function had a significant impact on his scientific and research activities. One of the main tasks he set for the research group was to direct its work to the needs of industry. This resulted in the extension of the scope of his scientific and research issues. They are included within the discipline of mechanical engineering. Currently, they focus on optimizing design features and explaining the phenomena in the friction contact zone of sliding nodes with the unusual design of cooperating elements, multi-criteria optimization and monitoring of machine elements manufacturing processes, as well as forecasting operational wear of machine elements.

On July 28, 2014, on the basis of his achievements and activities, he was awarded the title of professor of technical sciences by the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland. Currently, he is employed at the Rzeszów University of Technology as a professor.
